Welcome to the website of Dr. Sean George

I was dead for 1 hour and 25 minutes but came back to life after my wife prayed a simple prayer. Here you'll find my story, my mission and how to contact me.

My Story

My Mission

In 1998 I attended a missionary challenge conference in South India. I went expecting God to call me into fulltime ministry. I remember being seated among the 500 other Christians with excitement and expectation. As the speakers challenged the crowd, many came forward and surrendered their lives to being missionaries. I did not feel that God had called me.

I was rather disappointed, but as the closing message was delivered, the speaker spoke of serving God with your profession. I felt so strongly that this was me! God had called me to serve Him with my job as a doctor. Although I was willing to give it all up, God had always planned that I should use my skills to serve Him.

I started serving at a local church in Manipal, South India and was involved in youth ministry, teaching and leading medical, engineering, dental, allied health and law students in the ways of the Lord. I soon took up eldership at the Grace Home Bible Chapel. I continued to do my job as a physician, but I knew that someday God would use my profession to serve him.

My wife Sherry and I moved to Malaysia in 2004 and the Lord changed the focus of my ministry to adults and I headed the care and concern committee of the Melaka Gospel Chapel. I continued to work as a physician in Malaysia. God gave me the privilege to record my music album “As an Incense” at the Gecko Music Studio in Melaka. The album was recorded in both English and Mandarin.

God called us to Australia in 2006. I started serving in a small rural hospital in Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. I work in a tough environment with minimal facilities with a large indigenous population. I felt that perhaps this was what the Lord wanted from me. However it was in 2008 that God showed me my true calling in medicine. I started short term mission trips with the Healthcare Christian Fellowship to the Pacific islands of Vanuatu to serve God as a doctor among the local Ni-Vanuatu (Nivans) who had no access to good medical care. In the process we could also share the gospel with these patients, this was indeed very fulfilling. When I returned from the first mission trip I had my heart attack and cardiac arrest.

The Lord brought me back to life, and convinced me that I need to share this miracle with the rest of the world. Since December 2008 I have been sharing my testimony. I travel all over Australia to any church or group that invites me to share for the glory of God. I have also shared my testimony in the United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, India and Vanuatu. It is my desire as long as I live to be able to share this miracle with the world for the glory of God.

People ask me why this happened to me and not someone else. I am in no way special but I do know that this is for God’s glory and I thank God for His mercy on me and my family. I know that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and He has raised me from the dead like He raised Lazarus. I am in a unique position being a Specialist Physician to understand how miraculous this is, and fortunately the whole event is well documented as it happened in Australia.

I hope that God will challenge you, to think about Him. When I recovered one of the important things that God has put in my heart is that He is the same Almighty God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac. He is a loving God, but also a Holy God who wants to have a relationship with me and you. He also convicted me of the fact that His coming is not too far away. He promised in His Word that in the last days there will be signs and wonders so people will believe. I believe that what He did in my life is a signpost for people to see that He is real and alive. God has indeed blessed us, and sometimes we are so self sufficient that we forget Him. It’s my prayer that God will speak to your heart as you hear my story and you will surrender your life to Him.

May God bless you and cause His face to shine upon you. Amen
